Northwest Suburban Large Faculty District 214 has announced the winners of the Arts Limitless District 214 and Daily Herald Local community Artwork and Crafting Contest.
The once-a-year contest invitations residents of the faculty district — which encompasses Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling — to submit their authentic prose, poetry or artwork.
Judges decided on by District 214 appraise the do the job and identify 1st-, next- and 3rd-spot winners. The winners are published in the Everyday Herald and acknowledged at the district’s Arts Unlimited Reception, which is becoming held almost this yr.
This year’s winners for 1st spot are: Benny Ortiz Galicia, Dennis F. Depcik and Martin McGowan for second spot, Megan Steffens, Bev Ottaviano and Joe Lynn and for third position, Emily DePaz, Janani Venkat Ramanan and Alexis Petrielli, with an honorable point out for Linda Sinard.
This year’s judges ended up Jonathan Pruc, an artist, District 214 alumnus and art teacher at Mundelein Superior Faculty, in the visible art class Monthly bill Leece, a retired English and journalism trainer, in the prose category and Jan Bottiglieri, a writer, poet and editor for the poetry once-a-year Rhino, in the poetry class.
